BILLIES BAY

Public BBQ

Billies Bay presents a serene lakeside destination beside Lake Wivenhoe, where families discover a peaceful picnic spot enhanced by abundant native wildlife. The barbecue facilities experience occasional maintenance issues, though the scenic dam setting compensates with spectacular water views and generous parking for boat trailers. Koalas and kangaroos frequently visit the area, creating delightful wildlife encounters that particularly captivate children. Picnic tables positioned strategically near the boat ramp allow families to combine recreational boating with casual dining, while toilet facilities serve the practical needs of day-trippers. The location's isolation from urban development means services can be intermittent, so visitors should plan accordingly, though this same remoteness provides the tranquil atmosphere that makes Billies Bay a favourite quiet escape for those seeking a genuine connection with Queensland's natural landscape.
